Winter is HERE !!!!!!!!

WINTER IS HERE and we need to take extra care of our skin and hair. During winters, the skin tends to become more sensitive or irritated due to the cold air, harsh winds and dryness. By implementing some simple changes in your skin care routine and by choosing the right products, your skin can stay healthy looking all-round the year.

It is important to change your skincare routine during the winter. Let's start with the changes we need to make to our skin care routine.

1. CTM- Routine :

C : Cleansing - Choose a lighter cleanser than the one you generally use for summers. Use gentle cleansing milk or mild foaming cleansers. Avoid alcohol-based products as they will strip away your skin's natural oils, resulting in a dry and irritated skin.
T : Toning - These are the most underrated skin care products. But when used properly, a toner can effectively both balance and moisturize your skin. If you are not using any toner, then please go and buy a good toner which suits best for your skin.
 M : Moisturizing - During winters, we need slightly heavier moisturizers to repair the damage done by the weather. Make sure you moisturize twice a day, every morning even if you don't go out and night before going to bed.

2. Exfoliation : Adding an exfoliation step to your winter care routine is a must. A cleanser with gentle exfoliation will help to remove dead skin or use any scrub a couple of times a week to do the job. Don't use a harsh exfoliant. Choose something very gentle and use as instructed.

3. Eye cream : The skin around the eye is very thin and harsh weather can be extra tough on that area. Extra moisture around the eye will keep the skin hydrated and soothed. So, add an eye cream to your skin care routine.

4. Lip Balm : Apply a moisturizing lip balm to your lips at regular intervals. Lips also need exfoliation. Apply vaseline petroleum jelly on your lips and rub with sugar gently to remove the dead skin on the lips. Being harsh while doing this process will damage your skin on the lips.

  • Always dry your hair. Don't tie the hair if it is still wet.
  • Don't use very hot water for washing your hair.
  • Give your styling tools a rest.
  • Use shampoos and conditioners which can moisturize your scalp.
  • Apply Hair masks once in a week  to give extra moisture and conditioning to your hair.
  • Get regular trims.
On top of these steps, keep the three more things in mind.
  • Drink plenty of water to keep your skin and hair hydrated from within.
  • Have a healthy diet with full of nutrients and vitamins to keep your skin and hair healthy.
  • Buy the products which are suitable for your skin type.
