Tea Tree Oil Usages and Benefits ft. Ryaal Essentials

Hey, people!!
How are you all doing?? It's been more than a month that I haven't written a single post on my blog. I really missed writing :( No worries as I am back and I will try to be as regular as before. Today's post is going to be very new to me as I am talking about essential oils for the first time on my blog. This post is on Tea Tree Essential Oil from the brand "Ryaal".

I have postponed this post for a long period of time because of my busy schedule. I apologize for the delay and I thank them(brand) for being supportive. So, in this post, let's know some information about Tea Tree Essential oil.

About Tea Tree Oil:

The health benefits of Tea Tree Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, balsamic, cicatrisant, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide, stimulant and sudorific substance. It is toxic when taken by mouth but is widely used in low concentrations in cosmetics. It has gained a reputation as a cure-all oil which is no exaggeration. Tea tree oil can be used as a cure for almost all tropical infections and diseases because of the health benefits mentioned above. You name it and it has some sort of positive effect or treatment for that disease.

About Ryaal:

Ryaal is at the forefront of bringing the tradition of using organic products to the modern users. We are foremost manufacturers of essential oils and other organic products. We are on a mission to help you discover the powerful effects that essential oils & other organic products can have on your life. As we have each used product in different ways, we certainly got to know the amazing results by using organic products.

Product Description:

The tea tree oil offered by Ryaal Essentials is renowned all across the globe as an effective solution for attaining healthier and best-ever state of the skin and hair. It has been used from earlier times to keep the skin free from all sorts of infections owing to its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Tea tree oil is also praised as the perfect choice for interiors where a spicy fragrance is demanded.

Ingredients in Ryaal Tea Tree oil: 100% Organic Tea Tree Oil

Directions: For persons seeking a natural solution for attaining dandruff-free hair, use of tea tree oil in dilution with regular hair oil is the best solution. It helps to maintain the hair naturally longer, shinier, and thicker.

Price: Rs.249/- for 15ml.

Aroma: Potent, warm, spicy

Benefits: Cleansing, Purifying and Renewing.

Extraction Method: Steam Distilled from the leaves

Availability: You can buy this oil from Amazon. For the direct link, CLICK HERE.

Packaging: The Tea Tree Essential oil from Ryaal comes in a small blue colored glass bottle. The best part is that they have provided a separate dropper which is very much convenient to use.

Usage:

As said above, Tea tree oil can be used for many skin and hair related problems.

1. For Hair: This oil has an amazing property which works wonders on the dry and scaly scalp. It also fights with dandruff and hair fall and gives you longer, shinier and thicker hair. For this, dilute 2-3 drops of tea tree oil to your regular oil and use it.

2. For Skin:
  • Due to its antibacterial properties, Tea Tree oil is very efficient in treating acne and many skin problems. All you need to do is to mix a drop of tea tree oil with a tiny bit of coconut oil and apply on your face with a cotton ear bud. This draws out the dirt from your pores and will definitely destroy any pimple-causing bacteria.
  • You can reduce your dry skin on your hands/legs by just mixing 2 drops of Tea Tree Oil in your body lotion and applying onto your skin. This is a great solution, especially in winter where we all face scaly skin problems.
3. As a Cleanser:  In a spray bottle, take equal quantities of normal water and white vinegar and add 15-20 drops of the tea tree oil and spray this mixture on some household objects, especially in the kitchen, washing machine or bathroom, where it acts as a great cleanser. Also, be aware that it will not be diluted in water or vinegar, so avoid spraying directly onto your skin.

4. Mixing in Bathing Water: Mix 15 drops of the tea tree oil in the water used for taking a bath. This water when used for bath acts as a remedy for minor vaginal infections, without causing any side effects and also tea tree oil can help freshen you up. Unlike many soaps and washes, it keeps you truly clean, rather than simply covering up the odor.

These are some simple ways in which I am using my Ryaal Tea Tree Essential oil. Comment down below if you know any other DIY skin care or home remedies using tea tree oil.

Points to remember:
  • Always dilute essential oils with carrier oils
  • Please consult an essential oil book or another professional reference source for dilution ratios.
  • Natural essential oils are highly concentrated and should be used with care.
  • Keep out of reach of children and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
  • If pregnant or lactating, please consult your healthcare practitioner before using.

Photo embossing on desired surfaces

Photo transfers are a neat and pretty cheap way to get your favorite pics on the some of the coolest material around. I love to embossing pictures on different shapes of wood pieces as a super-hands-on DIY, you can really make this project your own way based on how you want your photo transfer to look – distressed or textured. This all depends on how and with what you apply Mod podge at last of the project. As told in a previous blog post that I can share you more projects on mod podge, this is one of them.
You can transfer your desired photos to make lovely gifts for friends, and they’d be fun to make with kids to...

Things required:
  • I used wooden base in this project
  • Glue medium
  • Modpodge
  • Wetcloth

STEP 1: Put It in Reverse
Open up the photo file you want to use for this transfer in a photo-editing program and reverse it.
Why in reverse? You’re going to be laying the photo face-down on the wood surface you’re transferring it on, so you want your photo to end up facing the right way when it’s revealed on the flip side.
  1. Check that your photo is set at 300 DPI so that the picture will be clear
  2. Don’t forget to size your photo to fit on the shaped surface of your wood piece.
STEP 2: Laser Paper Print
Get your reversed, properly-sized, 300 DPI photo printed from a laser printer on fairly thin paper
You want your photo printed on thinner paper because this’ll make it easier in Step 8 when you’re going to rub the paper fibers off.
We got double prints of our photos just in case our scissors go wrong.

STEP 3: Scissor Action
Cut out the laser-printout of your photo exactly in the dimensions of your wooden base you planned for.

STEP 4: Glue It Up
First, cover your work surface with some scrap paper.
Then take one of your brushes and use it to put on a thin layer of glue medium right on top of your photo.

STEP 5: Flatten It Out
Now, very carefully lay your photo face-down on top of your wood piece.
Once you got your photo in place, use your credit card or any laminated card to smooth out and flatten any air bubbles underneath your photo.
Wipe off any extra glue medium that seeps out of your photo’s edges as you’re smoothing it out.

STEP 6: Let It Dry
Now it’s time to let your photo transfer sit and dry for at least 8 hours. Depending on when you started this DIY, you may pick up on this project the next day.

STEP 7: Soak It Good
Once your photo transfer has been out to dry for 8 hours or so, it’s time to give it a good water-soaking.First, protect your work surface with some wet towels. Then take your towel rag and get it wet with some water.
Squeeze out excess water and press the wet rag on top of your photo transfer, making sure the photo in the transfer is completely soaked. You can also just let the wet towel sit on top of the transfer for a couple of minutes to make the task easier.

STEP 8: Rub-A-Rub!!
This part needs some patience. Use your fingers to rub off the fuzzy white paper fibers and to reveal your lovely photo underneath. Depending on how large your photo transfer is, this step may take a while.

STEP 9: Dry It Some More
You’re almost done, hooray!
Let your photo transfer completely dry, If you notice more paper bits on the wooden picture piece then wet it up and again repeat step 8.

STEP 10: Mod Podge It Up (Optional)
Once your photo transfer is dry and satisfactory to you, use the Mod Podge to seal your hard work with a glossy finish which adds a protective layer. For application use a sponge with strokes  to get a textured look ,if you need a smooth glossy look use a wooden Popsicle stick to apply evenly.
That’s it! Your photo transfer is done and ready to be in the limelight.
Don't expect a crystal clear image,Always expect a rough vintage look

You can try on different surfaces like glass, leather  with same steps as above.
but pictures on wood can be a bit clearer comparatively. That's all for today's post guys. Until next time, take care, bye-bye.
Please do share your images once you try this project, it encourages us

My Experience with the Face Wash:

This face wash satisfies all the claims. It is very much effective in every way. I am glad that I have chosen this face wash when the choice was given to me. The reason why I chose this face wash was its main ingredient i.e. Lemongrass. As I said above, I haven't used any product till now, which has lemongrass in it. The uses and benefits of Lemongrass oil are varied and plenty. This bitter and pungent oil with a unique grassy and lemony aroma is used not only in cosmetic and skin care products but also for a therapeutic purpose. So, I feel my choice was perfect.

The packaging is basic. It comes in a plastic see-through bottle with a pump dispenser and also an extra cap. The pump dispenser is very tight and as it has another cap on the top, it completely avoids the spillage of the product.  The face wash comes in a liquid gel form and the fragrance is simply citrusy. If you love the smell of a lemon, then you will love this face wash.

As I said above, this product is very much effective. This doesn't cause me any breakouts and controlled the oil secretion on my face. I have mentioned about my oily skin problems in summers in one of my previous posts. If you haven't read that, click here to READ. This face wash has kept my face fresh and oil-free for more than 4-5 hours which is a great thing. The gel forms a good amount of lather while massaging and the fragrance is just amazing in this process. It cleans all the dirt and dead cells from the face and keeps the skin supple. The only thing I didn't like about this face wash is the tightness of the pump dispenser. It is really very tight so that we need to use both the hands to release a drop of the product and we need two pumps of it to cleanse both the face and neck.

Pros:
  • 100% Effective
  • Does what it claims
  • Affordable
  • Easily available
  • Travel Friendly
  • Main Ingredients
  • Best for oily skin people
Cons:
  • It's really hard to release the product from the bottle
Final Verdict: Keeping the only con aside, this face wash has impressed me. I really love to use this face wash because of two reasons: 1. Fragrance, 2. Controls oil secretion. If you have oily skin, you should definitely give this a try as it is very affordable too.

That's all for today's post guys. Until next time, take care, bye-bye.

  • Rhassoul clay softens the skin, reduce sebum secretion, regenerate the skin by removing dead cells, and rebalance the skin by tightening the pores.
  • Bentonite clay removes toxins from the surface of the skin and from within pores. This helps to reduce the outbreak of blemishes, fight allergic reactions and calms the skin.
  • Activated Charcoal deep cleans the skin, takes care of oily and acne prone skin, makes pores smaller and cleaner, soothes the skin.
  • Calendula powder contains calcium, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E. It helps in reducing inflammation and soothe skin.
  • Green tea powder contains a high amount of antioxidants. This improves your skin complexion and makes your skin healthy. It helps flush out toxins from the skin, heals blemishes and scars, and reduces inflammation.
  • The Rose petal powder also has a good amount of antioxidants. The petals are rich with the antibacterial properties along with the positive effects of Vitamin K, C and B. This helps in achieving a radiant and glowing skin.

Price: 300/- for 30gms

My Experience with the face mask:

This mask is very much efficient in dealing with the skin problems. It is very safe to try on your skin due to the effective and 100% natural ingredients. But please make sure to read the ingredients list before trying any product because some people might even be allergic to the natural ingredients. It's better to try any product on your hand and check for any allergic reactions for 48hrs.

This mask comes in a powdered form which can be mixed with either rose water or normal water. I added rose water due to the refreshing feeling it leaves on the skin. I have used as per the directions and am very much happy with the result. This face mask made my skin smoother and glowing soon after the first use. Most of the products really suit my skin well**touchwood**. This is one among them. I will definitely recommend this to people dealing with skin problems as this might be your solution.

As the mask is in the powdered form, we can use it as a scrub while washing it off. It has a fine granule which can help with mild exfoliation and fights with the dead skin cells. Just wash off the mask from the face with a gentle massage in circular motion. You can use it twice a week for better results and it is suitable for all skin types.

Pros:
  • 100% Natural and Vegan
  • Handmade with ingredients good for skin
  • Works efficiently with skin problems
  • Makes the skin smoother and gives a glow
  • Reasonable Price
Cons:
  • Labeling - No details are mentioned on the package.

Organique Lip balm - Review:

Ingredients: Mango butter, Cocoa Butter, Avacado oil, Castor oil and Vitamin E.

Price: 150/- for 10gms

My Experience:

This lip balm comes in the small tub packaging with a screw cap and also a protective lid in between. It's simple and cute. As a lip balm addict, I always love to use different lip balms from different brands. So I was equally excited to add this balm into my collection. It is light cream in color and has a pleasant fragrance. This lip balm works well only on lips which are exfoliated. It doesn't heal cracked lips as it is very mild. It's better to exfoliate your lips twice a week to get rid of the dead skin. It doesn't leave any color tint on the lips and gives supple look on exfoliated lips. This moisturizes the skin on the lips and adds some shine to the lips.

Pros:
  • Handmade
  • 100% vegan and natural
  • Works fine on exfoliated lips
  • Soothing fragrance
Cons:
  • Tub packaging, I personally don't prefer lip balms with tub packaging as it is a  hygienic concern for me.
  • Labelling
Final Verdict: You can definitely try this brand. All the products are really impressive except the lip balm. It's an okayish product just to add to your collection.

How and Why to make a Nontoxic Home made Sunscreen

Today in this blog post, we shall know what exactly the sunscreen means and also the sunscreens with which ingredients must be avoided and finally how to make a Nontoxic Sunscreen for a regular daily usage purpose. This is good for adults and especially children whose skin cannot tolerate harmful chemicals.

What is Sunscreen?

Sunscreen, also commonly called sunblock, sun cream or sunburn cream is a chemical agent in the form of a spray, lotion, cream or other typical product that protects the skin from harmful UV exposure.

What is SPF?

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a measure of a sunscreen's product’s ability to prevent UV radiation from causing skin damage.

For decades, sunscreen manufacturers have insisted that the use of sunscreen will protect your health and help prevent the development of cancer, despite the lack of sufficient safety testing of different sunscreen ingredients. But many experts studying cancer have been led to a contradicting conclusion: that the use of sunscreens may even increase the risk of cancer, and sun exposure may reduce human cancer rates. Most sunscreens today contain chemical filters, and often include two or more of these chemical sunscreen ingredients: oxybenzone, octinoxate, retinyl palmitate, homosalate, octocrylene and paraben preservatives.

Can These Chemical Sunscreens Be Really Scary?

The Environmental Working Group says 56% of beach and sports sunscreens contain the chemical oxybenzone. The primary function of oxybenzone is to absorb ultraviolet light, but some research shows oxybenzone can be absorbed through the skin.

The Environmental Working Group and other toxicology experts believe that oxybenzone is linked to hormone disruption and potentially to cell damage that may lead to skin cancer. Chemical sunscreens have been found to accumulate in body fat and breast milk, and have even been linked to such hormonal disruptions as early onset puberty, low sperm count and breast cancer, as well as allergic reactions.

Alternative before you:

Conventional sunscreen can be full of harmful chemicals and toxins. Instead, try this homemade sunscreen recipe! It does protect your skin from getting burnt and also nourishes and hydrates your skin with essential vitamins and nutrients! Try it today!
According to my research, Homemade non-toxic sunscreen cannot have more than 30 SPF so should be used very often.
And Of course, it's worth it...!!!

Choose your homemade sunscreen SPF:

Different amounts of zinc oxide are needed depending on what SPF you would like your lotion to be. Choose the SPF, according to your purpose and usage.

For SPF 2-5: Use 5% zinc oxide
For SPF 6-11: Use 10% zinc oxide
For SPF 12-19: Use 15% zinc oxide
For SPF >20: Use 20% zinc oxide

Ingredients required:

1. Double-boiler (Make your own with a glass bowl over a simmering pot of shallow water)
2. 90g Coconut Oil– Organic extra virgin ones
3. 65g Carrier Oil– You can use virgin almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil or sunflower oil
4. 27.5g Shea Butter – Organic
5. Vitamin E oil  – 2 capsules
6. Essential oil –  You can add oil of your choice like Lavender, eucalyptus etc.(Optional)
7. 40g Zinc Oxide

Directions to prepare:

1. Add Coconut oil, Shea butter, and almond/jojoba/olive/sunflower oil in a double boiler. Prepare your own double boiler as suggested above in the first point of the ingredients list. Heat gently until Shea butter is just melted.
2. Remove from double boiler and allow to cool a little. Add zinc oxide, Vitamin E oil, and optional essential oils to the other ingredients.
3. Whisk it well and then carefully pour into container of your choice. This will take a few minutes to set up. Just walk away and leave it alone to quietly set up. Store it in a quality tight lid jar, preferably in the refrigerator.

How to Use:

Apply liberally to exposed skin. Reapply every few hours, or more often if swimming or sweating.
This is a successful combination of elements. My friends used this last summer and gave me a very positive feedback, I also gave it a try this summer and loved it so much. Of course, it will be a little bit greasy, but I felt it better for daily use when compared to the high chemical sunscreens. Since it does not have a high SPF you cannot stay back in the sun for more than 3 hours if so, it should be applied again.

Note: This homemade sunscreen has about a 6-month shelf life and should be refrigerated when not being used. Like any other sunscreens, the oils it contains are photosensitive, so do not leave your homemade sunscreen sitting out in direct sunlight. Keeping it in a cooler or Ice-bag will prevent it from melting at high temperatures when taking it to the pool or beach.
